While the order of our six sources does not have any particular meaning, it seems important that it begins with personal experience of mystery and wonder. We recognize that we all begin with our individual and subjective experience of astounding mystery and fantastic wonder of this world we live in.
One needs not to be a mystic to have had direct experience of the transcendent. It is affirmed by religion as well as science, by theists and atheists alike. What has your direct experience of mystery and wonder and been? |
Summer of Sources: First Source
During the first week of the Summer of Sources, we utilized Part I: “Awakening” & “Experience” (pp.3-40) from A Chosen Faith. During the worship both journals and silence were used to offer our congregation the opportunity to reflect on questions significant to this first source. Here are those questions:
