Unitarian Universalists seek wisdom from among many world religious traditions. Ours is not an attempt to steal another's culture, but to hear the language that names our experiences and calls us to more clearly understand our life.
Western traditions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam) share many traits and we trace our heritage through them via the Protestant Revolution. Eastern traditions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc.) speak to many of us also. Beyond scripture and sacred practices, we are grateful for the songs, images, poetry and architecture of world religions that direct us so clearly - but in different and unique ways - how to live. What world religious tradition speaks to you? How do you honor it for is difference from our faith? How does it clarify your living? |
Summer of Sources: Third Source
During the third week of the Summer of Sources leading into Sunday, July 17, we are using A Chosen Faith Part III: “The Cathedral of the World” & “Dialogue” (pp. 81-118). During the Sunday worship we will be using silence and journaling to reflect on specific questions on this source.
